The owner of this Toronto home wanted to create a media room that at the press of a button could quickly transform from watching multiple sporting events to an enveloping movie experience.

This media room features three LCD televisions, each with the ability to display a different television program. This allows the homeowner to follow 3 different football games at the same time. When the games have finished and it’s time to watch a movie, the custom programmed remote control will turn off the televisions and a 100″ motorized projection screen will automatically descend from the ceiling. The projection screen was installed so that it just clears the televisions and was sized so that the televisions would not be visible behind the screen.

Audio duties are provided by a Yamaha surround sound receiver but the star of the show is the custom built front speaker. While this speaker may be considered a soundbar due to its shape, it is by no means an ordinary speaker. At 80 inches long it was Triad Speaker’s largest soundbar ever constructed for the Canadian market and custom built to our requirements. Unlike most speakers which are traditionally black or white in colour, this one was custom painted so as to visually blend in with the quartz stone wall.

The next phase in this project will include the addition of an outdoor audio system which will provide the client access to his music collection while lounging near the pool and the newly landscaped backyard.
